Tuinbranche ziet omzet stijgen door mooi voorjaar

Tuinretailers hebben hun omzetstijging in de eerste helft van dit jaar te danken aan het fraaie voorjaar. De maanden erna verliep de omzetgroei ‘ronduit stroef’, zo meldt GfK in een vrijdag gepubliceerd onderzoek.

In de eerste zes maanden van het jaar kwam de omzet in tuinartikelen uit op 2,3 miljard euro, drie procent meer dan vorig jaar. Deze lichte groei kwam vooral door meer bestedingen aan groot onderhoud, zoals bestratingen en tuinhuisjes. “De onzekere economische tijden weerhouden vooralsnog de Nederlanders niet om in de tuin te investeren'', aldus de onderzoekers.

Wel werd er door het slechte weer in de zomermaanden in die periode minder tijd gespendeerd in de tuin.
